The day before the move

Image
The movers are coming tomorrow and I am still not completely packed up. I will have to push myself to get everything packed up tonight then convince the cat to get in her carrier so I can lock her up at the new place before tomorrow. I will set an intention for her to be cooperative and calm. The last time I posted I went to the new place to clean it before I moved in. It made all the difference in the world! I needed to get my familiar scents and set a positive intention for living there. Whomever lived there before was not the cleanest person and she didn't bother doing a deep clean before moving. Apparently the management company also did not hire a professional cleaner so I had to clean and sanitize every single surface. It smelled an looked better. I finally felt excited about moving. Yesterday I did more purging then went out to buy the boxes so I can consolidate the crap that I didn't get to put in totes from my job. What complicates this move is the fact that I ...

Trust Issues

Image
I have lost touch with myself to the point that I can't even trust my own feelings anymore. I think I shared (but I might not have) that while I like my new apartment I have some feelings that are cropping up. One of them is that my neighbors are very different from where I live now and that I can hear the upstairs neighbor stomping around. There are also some other things that I overlooked because I neglected to do them. So I had to tell myself that anything that is not up to my expectations is my fault because I honestly did not put the work into finding a place that was ideal. I am functional but I am unmotivated. Things that I would typically do before renting a place just didn't happen. Also, because it took me so long to decide on a place I really have no right to complain. So, I have convinced myself that I can live there for a year in preparation for leaving this area which I am not connected to. I also started feeling weird about living in the suburbs after living ...

The Magic Follow-Up

Image
Cuba was in the top 3 of my bucket list destinations (© All rights reserved) In my last post I wrote about the book The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. She is also the author of the popular book about the law of attraction, The Secret . There are many people who don't believe in the law of attraction and manifesting your dreams, but as someone who has experienced the power of positive thinking first-hand I am not one of them. Does it always work? No. It isn't like rubbing a jar and expecting a genie to come out and grand your wishes. It is more like doing deep introspection, clearly identifying what you want to show up in your life, doing what needs to be done to bring it to fruition. So back to The Magic . In my last post I wrote how I realized that language and thoughts have an impact on what we attract into our lives. I made a conscious effort to not think negative thoughts about others. Someone cuts in front of me in traffic, I try to stop myself from getting annoyed with tha...

The Magic

The author of The Secret also wrote a book called The Magic . My friend LJ sent it to me and I read most of it then set it on my nightstand to collect dust. I picked it up today because I am feeling like there are a lot of blockages in my life preventing me from moving to the next level. I have been working on changing my thoughts, changing my language, and moving through life in a different way. While I was working on expressing gratitude and counting my blessings this morning I had an ah-ha moment. I realized that I had been creating problems in my life by defining myself as a problem-solver. How can I be a problem-solver if I don't have problems to solve? So, I resolve that I will stop defining myself as a problem-solver and be more aware of the way that I define myself. Right now, I have real problems that need to be solved. Perhaps instead of defining myself as a problem-solver I can define myself as solutions driven or solutions oriented. I honestly think that when life ...

Creating Karma

People create their own karma. My aunt doesn't believe in much spiritually and tried to downplay the role that energy and actions play in our lives. I am in the midst of spiritual warfare, but I am so secure in my faith that I will keep trusting in the Lord no matter how much is thrown at me. I don't understand how people can be so diabolical and petty. Seeking to intentionally hurt others and getting off on it is just sick. I pray that God will soften the hearts of these people with hardened hearts. 💔I have decided to speak life over those who aim to undo all that I have spent years building. I will pray that they will find peace within themselves and will speak life over the lives of others.
