Reflecting on the future

Image
I am finally starting to feel like myself after that thrust into negativity land. I have had a challenging week (really the past couple of weeks) and it has forced me to think about where this energy could be coming from. As I have mentioned before I am an empath and very intuitive. My intuition has told me that there is someone (or more than one person) working against me which is why I am having to work harder than I should. When I thought it about and started to piece things together it was clear who these people are and why they feel the need to set me up for failure. I tell you if you listen the universe will tell you everything that you need to know. As I said, I am pretty intuitive and my intuition is always right. Some people think I am paranoid or concoct conspiracy theories about events but as we saw with my last work environment everything that is suspected was accurate. People asked me how I knew and it was because of my intuition. It tells me what I need to know so...

Times like this

It is during times like this that I most miss being in a relationship. When everything is relatively calm and all I need is a man to turn me into melted chocolate.

Coupling

Maybe because I never saw it in action, but I never valued the power of coupling. I am seeing some powerful couples and I wish I knew the power of couples when it mattered. If you have a strong relationship, don't take it for granted. It will take you far in life.

Parting Thoughts

Wishing I'd spent those final days waking up with you beside me rather than getting up to do other things. I remember like it was yesterday standing in the door of the bathroom watching you shave and talk about just ordinary things. I remember how soft and sweet your kisses were and will hold that memory in my mind forever. The last memory I have of you is sitting on my bed telling me what I didn't want to hear and then walking out my door without so much as a glance back.  I never thought this scene would be a part of our lives.

4 The Luv of Muny

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10 The question of love vs. money is one that comes to the surface every now and then. Friends going through relationship drama offer an interesting perspective into the human mind. Let's look at friends A and B. Friend A is a hard working 40 y.o. who married young, divorced young and remarried in her late 30s. In marriage number one, money wasn't an issue. In marriage number two, she was looking for characteristics that she didn't find in marriage number one. Marriage number two lasted four year. The problem? Money. Friend A makes a decent wage and works a few side jobs whenever she can. On the other hand, her hubby was what some might consider a financial loser. As much as she loved money, she thought that co-mingling their funds showed her trust. I don't even have to tell you how this sto...

Playing the numbers game

Image
I met you eight years ago. For five of those eight years you courted me. For one of those years you seduced me. For two of those years, you abandoned me. And now you want to start over in the middle? Do you know that Monopoly is my favorite board game? Do not pass Go! Do not collect $200! Oh yeah, and you miss a turn this time around. Come correct or don't come at all.

No Do-Overs!

Image
One of my favorite games when I was growing up was jacks. I could play jacks for hours. Even in college we used to have jacks play-offs. My boy Ty challenged us ladies to a game of jacks -- he used to play with his sisters -- and blew everyone out of the box. Remember when you got really good at jacks, the game changed. You'd play double bouncies , round the world, and come up with other tricks. Relationships can be a lot like playing jacks. How so? Well, practice makes perfect. Whoever plays the best is the winner. And, if you mess up you want a do-over. Hold up! A do-over? In a relationship? Well, yeah. Why not? It's funny how men tend to always be the ones calling for a do-over. Why is that? Is that because they are always cheating? Just kidding. But seriously, I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've gone to a man and asked for another chance at a failed relationship. Yet, men do it all the time. So, who writes the rules? Should we all...

Universal Mind Control

♥ Sometimes the universe will shift energy depending on where you are. Interesting how making a change of location will shake things up. The song "Flaws and All" by Be.yonc.e reminds of me of someone I once felt very close to. We had a falling out (I would link to the post but that would be too time consuming) and about a year (or was it a year and half) later he apologized for his behavior. [I looked it up. He went crazy in '06 and apologized the beginning of this year.] Strange thing is that after all of this time, he calls me. Out of the blue. And we talked. Like nothing happened. And he still makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And I still like him. As a person. Really, I do. ♥ And that's why I love you You catch me when I fall Accept me flaws and all And that's why I love you

Save it for Oprah, Honey!

Subtitle: Friends don't let friends give relationship advice Ahhhh relationships. Once we've been in them we all want to think we are experts. We can't get it right on our own, yet we walk around wielding advice to our friends and associates like we get paid for it. And those on the other end actively seek it out like bees to nectar. I learned a while back to leave the advice giving and taking to the professionals. I love my friends, but they are just not the best people to pro-offer advice on relationships. They've been just as emotionally and physically battered, bruised, and damaged as I have. They don't have any more perspective to offer than what I've experienced on my own. As far as distilling advice, well I've hung up that hat. First of all I have nothing to show for what I know and that is the first thing that will fall out of someone's mouth when they get mad about something I have to say. Secondly, they don't listen anyway. I'v...

Holding it Down for a Brother!

That's what's up! I am in LOVE with this couple. Look at them...the intensity. The camaraderie . No matter what goes on behind closed doors, they are the epitome of what Black Love is about. Michelle, is that sister that will hold it down.

My Ideal Mate: Cancer

According to all the charts this little quiz was spot on. The only man who I think I was truly in love with was a Cancer. Your True Love Is a Cancer Why you'll love a Cancer: Cancer's loyal and sincere heart makes your own sensitive heart melt. Caring and devoted, a Cancer will take the lead in pursuing you - and not give up! Why a Cancer will love you: You're laid back enough to deal with Cancer's little mood swings and freak-outs. A fellow homebody, you know how make Cancer comfortable and at home with you. What Sign Is Your True Love?

Growl!

I haven't been in the mood for blogging lately. With my other "projects" and all I haven't really wanted to write about my feelings. As a matter of fact, I've even neglected my personal journal. I've been in the mood for talking and personal contact. Now that I am back to being a gapping statistic ... sigh. In any event, I've been in constant conflict as of late. It seems that all of my relationships have been a source of angst. I would go into detail but I've been interrupted so many times while I've been trying to type this that I've lost the drive. I've been longing to go away....go away.....go away..... So, what have I been doing? Working, reading and catching up on videos.

I can't get no...satisfaction

Image
I've been craving comfort lately. Comfortable people, comfortable places and comfort food. That song is right...Christmas just ain't Christmas without the one you love. Someone to buy gifts for and make special holiday treats for him to sample. And another thing, who the hell let the mean people out? I left the house early this morning to get to work on time...almost like a special holiday treat for the boss ya' know? Naturally I was assaulted because of course I couldn't just mind my own business and be peaceful. Incident number one occurred on a downtown express train. I was lucky to get a seat and after getting the 'pod set with the right mood music pulled out Fever to continue reading where I'd left off the other night. I have the tunes going and I am reading when the woman sitting in the seat facing mine gets up for her stop and knocks the book out of my lap without so much as a glance backward to acknowledge what she did. I started a slow simmer. ...

Irish Oatmeal and Ex Lovers

And so it goes while eating a bowl of oatmeal this morning I thought about the promise of a special breakfast of homemade Irish Oatmeal from the Ex that has recently resurfaced. Then it dawned on me what it was about this man that drew me into him. He gave me a sense of comfort ... that is when he wasn't causing drama. The Capricorn, as he is known to some, was one of only three men I've been with who actually "took care" of me. He cooked for me each time I came to see him. The man can cook! He made sure I was taken care of and comfortable. Maybe that is why I dealt with his issues for a year and half. Because when it was good it was good but when he messed up he really messed up. If I could package up all the good things about him along with Supastar and a couple of other exes without the bad stuff...we'd be in business! Alas, this is not the case and I am left with memories of cold winter days where I was snuggly tucked away inside his apartment well fe...

Relax Yourself Girl

For the first time in a long time I actually had a relaxing weekend. I didn't HAVE to be anywhere at any particular time. So I took the time to walk and relax. The weather was nice (considering it is December) and now I am refreshed and clear minded. The ex I wrote about in the last post reached out to try to reconnect. I'm not going that route again althought it would be nice to have a snuggle partner for the cold winter months. I'll just settle for the snuggles from my kitty poo. When she is in the mood. I did a lot of reading this weekend which is something I hadn't been doing for a while. I would read a little here and there but I actually let me mind focus long enough to finish Do You Take This Woman and start Fever by Dominique. I'm going to try to finish Fever this week or next weekend. I also plan to finish Friday Night at Honeybee's before the holiday season ends since I will have some free time. I've had a couple of offers for Christmas but...
