No words

I have never understood how grown folks in the city can just "hang out."  When I was growing up, unless you were a bum, you didn't hang out as an adult. You worked, went to church, went to meetings, took classes, sold Amway/Tupperware/Avon but you didn't "hang out." So it is simply sad to me to see about 10 adults presumably in their 40s and 50s leaned, reclined, and propped all up against my car when I ran to the store this evening. Even the kids in the neighborhood will chill on steps or in the park. The fact that they have nothing better to do than sit outside, drink, and talk mess is bad enough. Sitting on your porch down south is different. These people live in what is said to be the greatest city in the world, and they have no hustle, no motivation, no drive. But the fact that they don't even have enough self-respect to care about other people's property is just pathetic. I don't write this to judge, but rather to remind myself when I begin...

Uprooting again

So, I am pretty much on my way. I got the job I applied for, though I still need to land a position. But, I am in. Going for fingerprinting this week. I was accepted into all 3 of the universities I applied to as well. My job dropped some really heavy bombs on us that made it super easy to decide to the get the hell of up of there. Quick. Fast. And in a hurry! I would be insane to stay there with the information that I now have. It is amazing how life works itself out. All of the worry, stress, and deliberating. No matter how many times we hear it we just won't let God be in control. God kept saying, "I've got this." Trust and believe. I am free. It hasn't really sunk in yet, because I still haven't given my notice. I am holding out for a number of reasons. I won't be saying anything until I get all my ducks in a row and/or my back is up against the wall. This experience of the past few years has been pure hell. I may be jumping out the frying pan an...

Still waiting

I am still waiting for word about the job I am trying to get. While I wait I am moving forward with my plans to move. Bought some garbage bags to start tossing stuff in my apartment. Hope to do it this weekend. Last weekend was entirely too hot. Also completing paperwork for job so it is ready to go once I get word. Got a call from a professor/chairperson at the school I have been waiting to hear from. He explained that the program I applied for was a different track from what I want to pursue right now, but if I wanted to do the component I missed when I applied I had about two days to do so. Since I really think I want to do the program out of state, I decided to pass. Of course, work was WORK as usual. Then I helped with an event for the organization I finally dumped. It was SO disorganized which is crazy since it was planned to the letter. I hate when people procrastinate. My boss wants to talk on Friday. Some stuff went down last week that left me feeling defeated and frustr...

Gone but not forgotten

So many wonderful things have happened since I last blogged. Life is not perfect....yet...but I'm working on it. I know, it may never be perfect, but I do aspire for a peaceful existence. My doctor has recently placed me on medication for hypertension since I can't get my pressure to come down. I am also back on Vitamin D supplements in mega doses.  I have so far been accepted into two schools. One of which was my top choice. One of which means that I will move out of state to attend it. I am also in the final round for a job that I applied for in the same state that I will be attending grad school. This is a major step up for me in so many ways. I will be able to have a fresh start I will be making more money I will have the opportunity to grow I will have the opportunity to be rewarded for a job well done I will have more benefits I will have a better lifestyle/quality of life I will be forced to slow down I will be working toward long-term goals As you kno...
