Giving Thanks Every Day

"When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food, and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself.”

The Content of Your Character

Good morning. While your circumstances are sometimes beyond your control, your character is not. God is Love Rev Run So, as a wrap up the to pre-holiday drama Miss Thang didn't even show up.  Didn't call or anything. Goes to show that people who love to point out your shortcomings (real or perceived) need to be focused on their own issues.  Maybe instead or running around from pillar to post (as my mom would say) it might be time to sit still and focus on healing that restless spirit.  Just a thought.

A Time for Healing

So, I still feel I have more emotions to work out in my life. I am on the verge of a very import decade in my life. One of those that everyone says makes it all clear. Perhaps that is why I am feeling the way I do. I had an "in your face" moment which some might classify as an "ah-ha" moment today. I had a friend basically jump up in my face (not literally) about my issues. Here's what I've come to realize over the past year: I've got issues, as well as subscriptions. The issues aren't necessarily my fault, but they are my responsibility to deal with in my life. I am learning to communicate better. I am ready to have a counselor or therapist help me deal with at least some of my issues. I think I am emotionally reaching the root of my problems. I am learning to feel deep within my spirit. Compassion is healing. I would probably spend hours delving into the details of everything I just listed so I will leave it as is for now. I am learning, grow...

Holiday Blues, Part XXXVIIII

Image
The holidays, which are meant to bring out the best in people, can often have the opposite effect. An apparent glutton for punishment, I have agreed to spend Thanksgiving with a friend who I have written about on here before. And while she has taken it down a notch, and we seemed to have overcome the past issues, today the old problems bubbled back up the to the surface. We talked it out, but I still feel there are underlying issues. Now we have to spend part of Thanksgiving together. One word. Awkward. Herein lies part of the problem (that has yet to be addressed). We agreed to spend time with a mutual friend on Thanksgiving Day. After we agreed to spend the day with said friend, she decides that she would rather spend the day with two of her other (unmutual) friends who also live across the B&T (bridges and tunnels) and then eventually land at said friend's house last because friend tends to run late and she is going to be ready to eat early. Here are my issues with thi...

Can everyone say aaaahhhhhhhh!!!! From the depths of your gut. Only a matter of hours at this point until we evict GW up outta' the big house and we can focus on getting through the rest of this year. In retrospect, this is the worst year I've experienced in a long time. For one thing, I've been sick most of this year and for another my finances are not what they should be. I'm a Taurus so that has a major impact on my life. I need the security of a good financial situation. As an aside, my cat is so athletic. She is racing through the apartment like she is on a fitness course, jumpinh over things and bouncing (literally) off the wall. She gallops the whole length of the apartment, bats things around with her paw, then lies down to catch her breath. Hysterical! So, now that Halloween is over and done with, bring on the egg nog and peppermint!
