Absurdity Seen While Cleaning Out My Email Box

Niggaspace Googly Eyed African Orphan Dolls Oprah gives $1000 debit cards to viewers to donate Resorts want more black skiers To be continued.....

Just another indication that I've been in NYC too long!

While waiting for my breakfast sandwich and .65 cent coffee at the street cart this morning a guy comes up dressed in a camo jacket, a mohawk and tight pants. I barely even noticed him. He then asks the guy next to him if he knew what he was dressed up as for Halloween. He was Rambo! I didn't even notice. Maybe it was the hair. Just another day in Manhattan.

Dropping the Ball

I've been dropping the ball a lot lately and that disturbs me. On another note, I didn't drop the ball here. Happy Birthday, Na...if you are still sneaking and reading :)

Fall Back on Track

I was so ready for that "extra" hour. I can actually feel the difference. Hope I can keep it up.

Sit Yo' Arse Down and Be Still!

Not really sure what the deal is but there is a lot of conflict and negativity around me. Interestingly enough I am calm, I am collected and I am content. I have been busier than a worker bee but each task has a purpose and is (hopefully) pushing me closer to my end result. Do people have an issue with this? Why is it that now that I am in functional mode all of the dysfunction around me is rising up? Friends who should be supportive are not only showing their ugly sides but are actually trying to tear me down? People who asked me to help them because of my organizational skills and dependability then criticize me for those same qualities. I don't get it. Is that what balance is? Good and evil in constant flux? Where is the peace? Here are a couple of examples (without getting into too much detail). Situation 1 Person A: Will you help me? Me: Sure I do what needs to be done to help person A. A few days later...despite my help person A still can't get it right because the...

One Chilly Morning in October

Image
On my walk to work this morning in the chilly October air I decided that this time next year I will be in sunny California. I have had enough of the rat race and am ready to return to my"native land." I will have a little economy, gas saving car, a nice sunny one bedroom apartment and a job with a deck so I can eat lunch while being kissed by the sun all year round. On the weekends I will traipse to the beach and listen to the waves roll onto shore. I will eat fresh food from the farmer's market and fresh seafood pulled out of the Pacific. I will job 24 hour Fitness and drive to the gym any hour of the day or night. I will buy a bike and ride it to take care of my weekend errands. I will walk around the lake after work as the sun sets behind me. I will eat granola, dried fruits and nuts...and like it. I will spend my weekend mornings trolling the local flea market and swap meets. I will wear flip flops in January. Look for me on the other side...of the country tha...

Lost in (cyber) space

I actually typed a post yesterday but blogger ate it. Oh well. Till next time....

Sleepin' in Sat' day

Image
I know I must have been tired. As much as I needed to do this weekend and I slept in until 11 AM. And Kitty Boo must have known how tired I was because she actually let me do it. Thank goodness, I needed that rest. I have been burning the candle on both ends and the middle as well. Let me tell you something...if you aren't on a hustle in NYC then you aren't doing anything! I have been meeting/reconnecting with people who are seriously on the grind here. It's time to make things happen. Stay tuned.

Pumping the Brakes

On the verge of exhaustion I had to take a few days to pull myself together. I have been filling every minute of every day with ongoing projects. Although I could feel myself burning out, I kept accepting offers. I haven't been motivated for such a long time. I had become complacent. I had pretty much hung up my overachievers hat and was willing to sit back and accept fate as it was handed to me. So, being inspired and focused is an interesting turn of events. Something about the crisp fall air and pending winter months of being closed up inside that causes me to want to get as much done as possible before that long winter sleep descends upon me. I think of home often these days. Walks along the shore, the smell of eucalyptus and pine trees. Evergreens, vivid blues and rich browns that line the vista. Images that look as if an artist composed them as a landscape on canvas. The land where the mountains meet the ocean. The smell of salt air and the sound of waves crashing i...

Do you ever wonder if you are living in Bizarro World? So many odd things happen in your life until nothing really phases you anymore? Welcome to my world, friends! I guess it makes life more interesting and keeps the conversations fresh and light. Next post, creative repurposing solutions for the budget conscious cat owner (try saying that 3 times fast). Have a nice weekend!

Sensitivity

Not sure what is happening...are the planets off? Is it PMS? MSG? Transfats? Global warming? What da' hell???? Feeling sensitive and irritable about a whole lot of things within the past week. Like, why are people trying to piss me off? I have seriously had several incidents go down that are more than just paranoia. For example, my missing boots...of the fact that I had to practically curse out some shady old men who were holding my other boots hostage. Or the fact that the cleaners closed early on the day that I didn't have a stitch of clean work clothes to wear. Or the accumulating list is b.s. that has happened over the past week that makes me question the good in humanity. But it's not all bad. I am accomplishing goals, crossing items off the to do list and forging bonds. I am rediscovering the lost art of conversation. Golden sent the following which I cut and pasted. I may elaborate later...or not. -A good long talk can cure almost anything. -Everyone needs s...

Coca

I think my friend (see October 26 archives) has a habit that is completely out of control. I suspected that she did a few other times I saw her but she was completely gone when I saw her last night. Speaking of needing an extra rush of energy check this out ! Has anyone tried it? It seems to be the winter of our discontent. Everyone around me is complaining about not being where they want to be at this stage in life. I am learning that we create our own opportunities so it is time to close your eyes and jump! I'm also learning that when life is ready to take you on a journey, you'd better get on board because you never know when the next train is coming. Related: Daily News

Is He The One?

I swiped this from the one who "keeps you posted." I've seen it before (maybe even wrote some it) and agree with everything except a couple. MR. RIGHT a. He is a true best friend and everything you ever wanted in a man i. He was cute when you met him. But, after spending sometime you see he`s fine as hell! j.
