Blessings, affirmations, grace, and reflection

I am thinking about starting a prayer journal. I have always struggled with prayer but I heard someone say something today that gave me the idea for the prayer journal. He basically said to come to God with gratitude for what you have. I have so much to be grateful for yet I spend so much energy focusing on crap. I want to challenge myself to each day write a gratitude prayer in my prayer journal so by the end of the year I will have 365 or more prayers to look back on if and when I ever find myself at a low point again.

When I first heard Jill Scott sing "Hear My Call" I was driving and tears started to stream down my face. I thought, how brave to expose herself this way in a song.
