Could he be the one?

Image
Last night I had a dream that I met the one. He wasn't anything that I would have expected. He was a really cute, really together white guy. Now, I have never dated outside of my race. I have had guys of other races like me when I was in college, but I never really dated anyone was other than full black. I have not even dated anyone biracial. So, maybe that is the problem. Maybe I have been looking in the wrong place for the love of my life. Maybe he really is out there waiting for me. Maybe.

A Sense of Urgency

Sometimes when our spirit tells us it is time to move on we stay. I have found over and over again that this serves no purpose. I am learning that when my spirit tells me that my time in a place or space is expired that I need to get my butt into gear to move on out. I look forward to all of the wonderful blessing that are ahead of me.

Work Place Abuse

I have been studying the impact of work place abuse and how it can be defined as a type of PTSD once you leave the abusive environment. I came across the work of Chauncey Hare who shared different scenarios including the one below of Martha. I think it is sad that the work place bullies and abusers are allowed to continue to hurt people and there is nothing that can be done to stop them. Why aren't these people being sent to counseling to heal them of their hurts that they are projecting on others?  I never want to be in a position of authority. I simply want to be seen as a leader. A firm but fair leader. It seems from what I see on here that it is simply a matter of finding a environment that is safe. Sadly I have found that even if you do find a work environment that is safe where you are not being bullied or scapegoated the leadership shifts and you sadly wind up with another idiot who compensates their insecurities by abusing you. I have lots of healing to do before I start my...

Fighting myself

Today I have spent the entire day fighting myself. Beating myself up and calling myself stupid. Maybe if I allow myself one day to do it then I can get it out of my system and put these past two years of negativity and abuse behind me. I am beginning to believe that you can have post traumatic stress after leaving an abusive job as well. I am certainly jaded. I want to be fresh, trusting, and fearless like I was two years ago. As I was looking at this page I noticed my inspirational messages over on the right side of the page. Both of them were exactly what I needed to hear in this moment. The Ralph Marston post is below this one. It really hit the nail on the head. I need to release this situation after this and simply move on. The Daily Word read: Faith I HAVE FAITH IN THE POWER OF MY THOUGHTS. Jesus used the metaphor of planting seeds to explain the power of our thoughts. He taught us to pay attention to the seeds we plant. I examine the seeds I nurture. Do I...

Move onYou’re going along great, making progress, enjoying the effort, and then an unexpected interruption crashes your efforts to the ground. So, deal with the interruption, then let it go, and move on.You’ve worked long and hard to achieve the results you desire, but the results you end up getting are not what you wanted. Accept the disappointment, learn all you can from it, and move on.Out of the blue, something new and wonderful suddenly comes into your life. So enjoy the moment fully, and then move on.Whether it’s pleasant or unpleasant, expected or unexpected, fulfilling or disappointing, life brings new substance every day. Live it fully, making the most of what comes, and then get moving along.Don’t keep fighting against the bad stuff that’s already occurred, or continue clinging to the good stuff that’s already over. Let what has happened be what has happened, and move on.Whether it’s been wonderful or disappointing or a mixture of both, be thankful for whatever you’ve just experienced. Feel your renewed inspiration, activate your new strength, and move positively on.— Ralph Marston
