I have been in a weird mood today. I won't attribute it to my hormones, lack of vitamins or the alignment of the planets. All day long I have listened to this song . It wound up on an iTunes playlist and I've since found myself seduced by the ethereality of it. It takes me to the same place as Maxwell 's "Submerge" and "Drowndeep". I thought the vocalist was Bjork since the sound reminded slightly of " Oceania " yet it was much less disturbing . As it turned out it was Sabina of the Brazilian Girls . Ms. Honeysoul shared this music with me months ago but at the time I wasn't really feeling it. As I suspected, it was something that I had to grow into . When Honey sent it to me I was in a different place in my life. Now, I get it . There is just some music that requires you to be in a certain frame of mind to really get the artist's intent . W e've all heard the horrible nightmarish stories about nannies who abuse their charges, but here is a new twist on The Nanny Diaries . I remember a full page story being published in the NY Times a number of years ago about how highly paid New York nannies are. The article reported that they average about $40K/ year for taking care of the spoiled little silver spoon lickers in their care. Of course, upstate parents in the lovely hamlet of Dobbs Ferry , might not pay as well as their cosmopolitan counterparts on the upper east and west sides of Manhattan. As a result, a network of nannies and housekeepers decided to supplement their income . I bet they wish they could simply fly off singing a catchy song like Mary Poppins . Someone please call Nanny 911 or Super Nanny for that matter. Even Nanny Fran might be an improvement in this case.

S ometimes I think I am way too impatient with people. One of my cousins once accused me of being overeducated . Um, yeah, that's it...maybe that is my problem. I just got through having another pointless and extremely frustrating email exchange with someone and now I am ready to bang my head against the computer monitor - hard. L ast year around this time, I stood out in the rain all day to see the Dave.Chappelle Block Party which, as it turns out was the secret reunion of The Fugees. Due to the logistics of the event that took place in a secret location and the fact that it rained continually the entire day, I would up leaving the concert early. It was rumored that Lauryn.Hill would be there but since she had faked on a number of prior appearances I wasn't holding my breathe. She got me that time though. She actually came through and I missed it! A year later their first single has been leaked, and again, Ms. HoneySoul was one of the first to be on top of it. What Language Should You Learn? Listen: El Medio (wm) Those who used to read my old blog know that around this time last year I attempted to learn Spanish - quite unsuccessfully if your remember. My instructor sucked ass was muy incompetente. I walked out that class every week feeling down and drained. He had me convinced that I needed to be in a special ed remedial Spanish course. I was an excellent French student in high school so I couldn't understand why it was so difficult for me to pick up Spanish since the two languages are somewhat similar. It became quite crystal clear how much of an ass my instructor from last year was now that I am taking the course with a fabulous instructor who actually knows how to teach the subject to beginners. Someone must have left that part out of jackasses job...
