We've all heard the horrible
nightmarish stories about nannies who abuse their charges, but here is a new twist on
The Nanny Diaries
. I remember a full page story being published in the
NY Times a number of years ago about how highly paid New York nannies are. The article reported that they average about $40K/ year for taking care of the spoiled little silver spoon lickers in their care. Of course, upstate parents in the lovely hamlet of
Dobbs Ferry, might not pay as well as their cosmopolitan counterparts on the upper east and west sides of Manhattan. As a result, a network of nannies and housekeepers decided to
supplement their income. I bet they wish they could simply fly off singing a catchy song like
Mary Poppins.
Someone please call Nanny 911 or
Super Nanny for that matter. Even
Nanny Fran might be an improvement in this case.
