How quickly it changes

It is amazing how quickly your mindset can go from positive and upbeat to down and depressed. This happened to me this week. I can partially blame it on Aunt Flo but not completely. This week has been one that has required me to deviate from my routines. I typically pretty flexible but maybe in my old age I am starting to be more predictable. I was fine up until Thursday when I was thrown for a loop. I couldn't get home. There was so B.S. going on and my street was blocked. I couldn't get answers as to how to get around it. I sat in traffic for close to two hours then when I finally got out of traffic I couldn't get home. I hadn't eaten all day because I have a broken tooth that I can not afford to get fixed right now. There is just a bunch of crap falling around me at the same time. So I cried Thursday and thought I was over it until some other B.S. cropped up on Saturday. I have been down all week - really since the week before and took a day off to try to shake it of...

Times like this

It is during times like this that I most miss being in a relationship. When everything is relatively calm and all I need is a man to turn me into melted chocolate.

God answers prayers

I am in a good place. That is all.

In a Blessed Place

Good Morning, I am starting fresh morning and feeling really good about it. I have seen God work in my life and those around me and I am encouraged!  I am in a good place right now. I thank God with all of my heart and spirit for the blessings that have been bestowed upon me. I am living a blessed life! I am listening to The Walls group and they also touch my spirit with their encouraging music. I truly in a good place right now. God is good....all the time. Even when I am at my lowest and feeling negative about everything God is still behind the scenes working it all out on my behalf. Thank you God for loving me and keeping me in your fold. Love Always, -Me For the first time See the world for the first time today, fresh and new and full of hope. Marvel at the power of your own living spirit, as if you’ve never encountered it before. Open yourself to the miracle that is your own existence in this moment. Let the truth that springs from every reality sink warmly i...

Message for a rainy day

While it is a beautiful sunny day today and I am in a positive and productive mood, I know that this message will be needed once I get into the full swing of things. So I am saving this one for a rainy day when I will need the motivation and encouragement. Saturday, August 8, 2015 Peacefully determined Trying harder and harder won’t make you any more effective. Step back, take a breath, remember who you are, and allow good things to come through your efforts. Pushing and shoving, even if it’s against your own fecklessness, is not the way to make progress. Let go of the worry and anxiety, and let yourself be your best. The world continues to spin, the sun will rise again, and new possibilities are being born in every moment. Accept the unique value of where you are, and allow yourself to do something wonderful with it. Raise your expectations, and don’t lose faith if those expectations are not met immediately. Choose to be inspired by the challenges, and you’ll position yo...

Still Here: The Saturday Night Edition

Image
Just writing to say that I'm still here. Today I piddled around the house for most of the morning then headed out to meet someone for a late lunch. I then ran a few errands. I am preparing for my new job and trying to get myself pre-organized so when I walk in I am ready to hit the ground running. I met my new assistant yesterday for coffee and I like him but he has had a challenging time and is in a place where he is ready to move on. I am hoping he stays and we can have a great working relationship. Tomorrow my plan is to deep condition my hair, deep clean my apartment, and organize my items that I will moving into my new work space. I think I will simultaneously organize my space here at home and finally get rid of a few things. I have old papers that need to be shredded but I think I got rid of my shredder when I moved so there's that. There is a container in the lobby of my building that accepts papers for shredding but I would only use that for old bills not sensitive...

Could he be the one?

Image
Last night I had a dream that I met the one. He wasn't anything that I would have expected. He was a really cute, really together white guy. Now, I have never dated outside of my race. I have had guys of other races like me when I was in college, but I never really dated anyone was other than full black. I have not even dated anyone biracial. So, maybe that is the problem. Maybe I have been looking in the wrong place for the love of my life. Maybe he really is out there waiting for me. Maybe.
