Life is for living

I'm out here trying to remember who I am. You see, when people try to kill your spirit you either lay down and die or you dig deep inside of yourself and fight for your life. They may have won the battle but the war is not lost. I wonder what people get out of trying to destroy you? I feel like Sofia from The Color Purple...all my life I've had to fight. And I have. There are been times where I have been exactly where I was meant to be and I was surrounded by love and light and then there have been times like this where I am shrouded in darkness and negativity. I have more critics than supporters. So, I have been investing my time in remembering who I am. What I love, what I am good at, where I feel most at peace. I already mentioned my trip to the desert. I have another amazing trip planned as well.

For now, I have decided to not submit my resignation. I will look into transferring out if it is an option and doing something different all together. I just haven't been motivated to work on getting my resume circulating just yet. My main reason for considering staying put right now is purely financial. I am finally reaching my financial goals and I want to build a nest egg before I pull up anchor. If I can get through another year without any major set backs, I will have a nice set up. If not then I will keep on keeping on just as I have been.

I said 2018 would be my year of travel and I am making it happen!

I made a list of destinations, but I find myself wanting to focus more on the bucket list destinations like Bali, Paris, and the Caribbean. God is so good and I am so grateful.

Had my goal setting meeting with bosses. We are keeping the same goals as last year. I will still casually browse around for a job, but I feel relatively confident that I am safe - for now. My baby has crossed the rainbow bridge

I know a few of your have been lurking here for years. So you know that I had a sweet little fur baby who I loved very much and who has moved with me from city to city since I've had her. It is with much sadness that I must report that my sweet girl was put to sleep to on Monday. She was getting up in age and had several medical conditions that warranted putting her to sleep. Her quality of life had deteriorated and I was no longer able to care for her the way she needed to be cared for. Her vet wanted her put down a while ago but because I have my issues with grief and abandonment I wasn't ready. I think getting therapy for the short time that I did was helpful with getting me over the hump to move forward. I know it was the right thing to do and she went so peacefully that it helped me know that I made choice.  I miss my girl. I look for her because we have never been apart for long periods of time. Took a break

I have been so busy trying to keep all of the balls in the air. Then I got sick. I haven't been this sick in a while. My allergies turned into an upper respiratory infection and I am still coughing as I try to clear out my bronchial passages. I've also started juicing to help support the recovery and have lost 15 lbs. I haven't had much of an appetite, so I drink fresh juice from the juice bar to keep my energy up. I could definitely keep this up for a while then transition back into a pescaterian diet. Sick and tired of being sick and tired.
